Belt and Road School at BNU Zhuhai organized a field study in Shunde, Foshan for over 40 international students from 22 countries. This immersive program was designed to deepen participants' understanding of China's regional development through experiential learning that integrates theoretical knowledge with on-site observation. Students gained first-hand exposure to Shunde's local culture, industrial models, and economic achievements across multiple sectors including cultural heritage, urban development, advanced manufacturing, and modern agriculture.

The field study commenced in Jun'an Town, Shunde-the hometown of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, renowned as "Bruce Lees Hometown." Participants observed an elite Kungfu production by the performers from Shunfeng Primary School and visited the Bruce Lee Memorial Hall. Through these immersive experiences, international students gained profound insights into Lee's legacy and the global impact of Chinese martial arts culture.

The international students visited Guangdong Shunde Junjian Modern Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. (Junjian Company) to conduct field research on modern agricultural projects including the Shunde Premium Grass Carp Industrial Park, Smart Fisheries Exhibition Center, and Aquatic Prepared Foods Processing Center. Through firsthand observation, the students gained deep insight into Jun'an's innovative practices and leading achievements in aquaculture and processing, creating valuable opportunities for practical agricultural cooperation and mutual benefits among Belt and Road partner countries.

The Shunde Prepared Food Industry Development Association organized local prepared food enterprises to host a special culinary event for the international students. During the luncheon, the students not only savored authentic Shunde delicacies but also gained an immersive experience of the region's rich culinary culture and high-quality prepared food products.

The students explored Jun'an Denim Design Center as a case study of industrial clustering, examining how the denim sector of Shunde integrates creative design with technological innovation, professional training, and market expansion - representing a successful model of traditional manufacturing transformation.

The program concluded with an industry visit to the base of Bear Electric Appliance Co. Ltd., where students analyzed how this Shunde-born brand evolved from local manufacturer to innovative global home appliance provider through design thinking and technological adaptation.

The field study program successfully transcended traditional classroom learning, vividly showcasing the Belt and Road Initiative's role in fostering economic cooperation, cultural exchange and innovative development. Through immersive corporate visits, international students gained firsthand insights into Chinese enterprises' development models and industrial advancement strategies, while directly observing cutting-edge innovations of Shunde. This integration of theory and practice has not only deepened their academic understanding but also strengthened their commitment to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
