The Budapest Eurasia Forum 2022 themed on "Sustainable Growth and Cooperation – How to Win the 21st Century?" took place in Budapest, Hungary on September 19-20. 48 experts, scholars, business leaders, government officials, and representatives of national organizations from 18 countries delivered speeches at the forum. In response to the current international situation, the forum emphasized on strengthening international cooperation and centered on the following six issues: first, fnancial issues: “how to consolidate the construction of a new fnancial center in Eurasia;” second, geopolitical issues, “the value chain, interconnection, and prosperity of the Eurasian region;” third, infrastructure, interconnection, and technological innovation issues, “logistics, infrastructure, and technological development in the context of competition and circular economy;” fourth, economic issues, “how to win the Eurasian market in the 21st century;” fifth, multilateral cooperation issues, “how international cooperation can improve the competitiveness of the Eurasian region;” and sixth, educational and cultural issues, “how personnel exchanges can serve Eurasia’s economic development.”

At the invitation of György H Matolcsy, the Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary, Professor Hu Biliang, Executive Dean of Belt and Road School, attended the seminar on September 19 via video and delivered a speech on "Infrastructure, Interconnection and Technological Innovation." In his speech, Professor Hu shared insights on how China has helped enhance developing countries’ innovation capabilities by disseminating knowledge on infrastructure, manufacture, industry, and technology through the Belt and Road cooperation. He also discussed the prospects and trend of improving innovation capabilities in Eurasia through the Belt and Road cooperation in the future.

The Budapest Eurasia Forum is a comprehensive international forum hosted by the Central Bank of Hungary, examining how to promote cooperation and sustainable development in Eurasia. The first forum was held in 2019, while the second and third were held online in 2020 and 2021. And in 2022, the fourth forum was held back offline in September.
