The 8th China Think Tank Development and Evaluation Summit Forum, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies (CASSES), was held in Beijing on September 19, 2025. Think tank leaders, institutional representatives, and experts from across the country gathered to exchange insights and share best practices on the theme of building distinctive think tank brands and enhancing their practical impact.

At the forum, the results of the China Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Project (2025) were officially released. The Belt and Road School of Beijing Normal University (BRS) was selected as a “2025 AMI Think Tank Institution”, and its publication series High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation was recognized as one of the “Reference Cases for the Ten-Year Review of New-Type Think Tank Development with Chinese Characteristics.”

The China Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Project (AMI), organized by the CASS Evaluation Studies, is one of the most authoritative and influential national evaluation programs for think tanks. Centered on the dimensions of Attractiveness, Management Capacity, and Influence, the project identifies and promotes think tanks with strong overall competence, distinctive expertise, and outstanding policy impact, along with exemplary cases that represent the nation’s think tank development.

Guided by its mission—“Imparting Silk Road spirit, boosting connectivity, promoting global development, and advancing a community with a shared future for humankind”—the Belt and Road School actively serves China’s major national strategies. To date, it has trained over 740 high-level professionals and future leaders from 95 countries, cultivating talents with Chinese insight and global vision.

The School has produced a series of world-class academic and policy research outputs in areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, emerging markets, and regional studies. It has also built high-level platforms for international dialogue and cooperation, contributing intellectual resources and talent support to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation series, compiled by the Belt and Road School and co-edited by Prof. Wang Shoujun and Prof. Hu Biliang, consists of 12 volumes. The research team conducts in-depth thematic studies on the Five Connectivities—policy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, trade facilitation, financial integration, and people-to-people exchange. The series aims to interpret the principles of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and systematically summarize China’s experience in BRI implementation, offering both academic and policy value for global reference.

The Belt and Road School’s recognition as a nationally accredited AMI think tank and its inclusion in the Ten-Year Review of New-Type Think Tank Development Cases underscore its academic strength, practical contributions, and distinctive role in policy-oriented research.

Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the School will continue to enhance its think tank capacity, strengthen international collaboration, and make greater contributions to advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
